It's hard to know if that chill in the air is from the approaching fall breeze, or from the withering glare of Nurse Harrow, who now joins us on the streets of Manhattan. To some, her practices may seem unorthodox, her patients at the Marble Hill Possession Ward cannot say that the results aren't effective. With Leech Therapy, she throws a jar full of leeches that attach to oncoming enemies, draining their health and energy, before crawling back to deliver their haul. Cracking open one of her vials, she releases her Wretched Vapors, possessing her allies with a powerful boost of effectiveness - though subjects should be warned of the side effects when the vapors wear off. To efficiently keep her teammates fighting their best, she loads her syringe full of Healing Needles to inject medicine directly into their veins. And when her patience runs out, she opens her bag to release all the Lurking Terrors captured inside, making her adversaries run for cover. - "Trust me, I know best."
With Nurse Harrow joining us today, that marks the end of our City Never Sleeps releases. We want to thank everyone for participating in voting once again, and hope you've been enjoying all the new delights that NYC has to offer.
City Never Sleeps Voting Stats:
- Big Turnout: Over 110 Million votes were cast over the course of the event.
- Narrow Victory: The closest contest was Baba vs Solomon, decided by a nearly 0.5% difference in votes.
- Oracle: Only 847 players voted in every round, and only voted for that round's eventual winner.
- Unlucky: 36,236 players voted in every round, and never once picked that round's winner.
- Dedication: 22,194 players exclusively voted for Nurse Harrow. One player cast exactly 1000 votes for her.
- Highly Effective: Nurse Harrow voters consistently proved to have a higher win rate over all other hero voters.

Brush in hand, Violet approaches the ritual with the same precision she does her art, wielding Living Ink that both empowers her bullets, and draws mere inspiration into reality. When entering Flow State, her ink glides easily, weaving towards danger to deal damage, or away from it to make a quick getaway. By creating a Still Life Violet can truly capture her enemies' likeness to stunning results. And with Abstract Landscape she surrounds herself and those nearby with her biggest and most ambitious piece yet, leaving onlookers completely speechless. - "I worked too hard to get here, I can't stop now."
Violet is available in-game now! Which means that our final hero - Nurse Harrow - will be joining us Next Tuesday October 20th at 2pm PDT. We want to thank everyone for participating in voting once again, and we'll see you next week for the culmination of our City Never Sleeps update. Have a good weekend!

Today, Fairfax Industries is proud to introduce their most valuable salesman: Deadman Danny. Wielding a rocket launcher and flying high above the streets of New York (courtesy of the Chimera Mk1 - the latest and greatest in self-adhered aviation technology), Danny rains his Strix Salvo missiles down upon foes, marking them for future attacks. Jettison Fuel is a handy trick that both expels heat from the Chimera System, while also dousing nearby enemies in the warm embrace of a fiery inferno. Yet his most impressive tactic has always been his ability to Close the Deal, wowing prospective customers with an explosive hands-on demonstration of all that Fairfax has to offer. - "At Fairfax Industries we say "All's Fair", but that's not true! Because with the Fairfax Chimera Mark 1, you have the advantage."

Solomon remains calm and collected when facing a new challenger, so when the Patrons come calling, he approaches the city as if it's one giant chessboard. With Setup Bishop he advances, planting his loyal damage dealers ahead of him and sliding them across the streets with ease. Kingside Knight comes into play when it's time for defense, granting protection to allies and making tactical retreats when needed. Rook Battery charges forward with great force, stalling enemies in their tracks. And with his final move, Develop Queen, he locks down his enemies in an ultimate checkmate. - "There's a lot you can learn from losing to a master."
Solomon is available in-game now (just in time for National Chess Day)! We're halfway through our latest set of heroes, keep your votes coming to help determine who will be joining us next Tuesday at 2pm PDT. Have a great weekend!

It was a close contest, but today we find New York's notorious pigeon lady leaving her favorite perch in Central Park and joining the fight on the city streets.
Tourists in the park might not think much of ol' Baba sitting on her bench - sipping tea and talking to her birds - but the locals have always suspected that something more brews below the surface. In the heat of battle, Baba throws out her Threadsap, a chaotic spool of yarn that steals the very spirit of her enemies, granting her greater power. While her legs might not be what they used to, her trusty bench comes to life with a creak of metal, allowing her to run, jump, and kick with impressive vigor. Parkgoers know it's best to stay on Baba's good side, as at tea time you might find yourself splashed with one of Baba's Brews (some of them much sweeter than others), and when tea time is over - The Birds come out to play... "They think they know magic? Oh I'll show 'em some magic."
Baba and her pigeons are available now! We'll see you back here on Friday at 2pm PDT to introduce our next hero.
Additionally, the end date for our first Ranked season has been pushed back to Thursday November 5th, 2026 at 2pm PDT, with the next season starting immediately after.

Out of the sewers and into the streets, the rightful King of the Rats is here at last. Rodent-hating citizens of Manhattan won't be prepared to see his Scrap Grenade bouncing down Broadway, nor for his Swarm of Rats biting at their heels. By donning his Royal Pestments, the Rat King shakes off incoming damage, allowing him to bravely lead the charge into battle. His loyal subjects will feel awed and inspired when they see the great Banner of Ratannia waving in the middle of combat, and those who oppose him will rue the day they ever thought they could overthrow the king. - "Oh the rats are taking over, baby!"
The Rat King is available to play now! Have a great weekend and keep those votes coming, as our next hero will be joining us on Tuesday at 2pm PDT. We'll see you then!

We also wanted to take this opportunity to talk about where we are with the development of the game and what to look forward to in the future. Our team has been incredibly happy and surprised with how passionate and supportive the community has been the past couple of years; every day someone shares something cool they've seen from the community with the rest of the team, and we are thankful for the constant support and useful feedback, despite the game being unfinished. We think building a multiplayer game is very hard and risky, and the best way to minimize that risk to make sure that we are able to have it in players' hands from an early state to help us shape it and tell us what is fun and what isn't. So, we wanted to give you all more insight into what we've been focusing on internally, as part of developing this game with your help and guidance.
After the Old Gods New Blood update, we felt that there was still a good amount of work we wanted to do on the core game itself before we moved onto more polish phases of the game development (like updating older hero artwork). Unlike previous updates where our efforts were more singularly focused on the key parts of that update, this year we've been working on several different things in parallel. A good number of those are things you can see in today's update. Some others are things we've been working on in the last few months alongside this update. This even includes things like progression and hero/hideout customizations, as we feel those are features we want to be able to adjust and significantly change based on feedback before the game is fully released. There are also other things we've been working on recently that are more speculative (as in we aren't 100% sure if they will be released or not based on how playtesting goes, though results so far have been promising) like large item redesigns/additions and alternate game modes that expand the scope of the game.
Then there are other things like Midboss (both the model and the layout to a degree), Guardians and Walkers, which we do consider important but just haven't gotten to yet and will be focusing on for upcoming updates. On the other hand, things like hero remodels were in our heads as something we'd get to later, towards the end of early development, after other core aspects of the game were more fleshed out. That doesn't mean we don't think they are important by any means, just that they are more of a known quantity to us that don't necessarily need to be done earlier than other things. That being said, we will likely be gradually working on them in the near future for inclusion in upcoming updates alongside other work.
We hope you will like this update. Thank you all for your continued support so far during development, and don't forget to Vote!
